Final Journal
What has been your opinion of the blog? Have you liked doing journals here? Why/why not? Has it been helpful having assignments posted? (Have you even looked? :P ) In what ways can the blog/journals be improved for next semester?

The blog has been a very nice. It's helped **alot** to be able to see what will be going on for each day. The blog has been incredibly helpful for when I forget something or (typical strategist tht I am) when I'm trying to plan out something. The journals have been nice too. I'm a *much* faster typer than I am a writer, and it's nice to be able to type my thoughts at home at times when I'm more comfortable (like 12-2am :P). Improvements? Hmmm...I guess it could help encourage us to check the blog more often if you had something interesting posted around. Like on the side strip, where the quotes were and everything. The surveys were alot of fun to check out and Dan's quotes, too, of course, but that all died after the first half. If you could keep that going, it'd be great! It doesn't have to tie in with English, or it could tie in, but with something that was simply mentioned, not involved in the hot topic for the day. Some random survey would be espeacially fun.

Honestly I think that the blog is a very useful tool. I think that it helps to write the thoughts that one has right after one has the thoughts. Another thing is that very useful about the blog is that it tells me what homework I need to do or what I missed when I was gone. These to things are the main reasons that the blog is useful. I do not have anything to criticize about the way that the blog was done because the assignments were usually reasonable. Despite this reasonability, I still did not enjoy doing the journal assignments, but that is a given.
I like the blogs alot. Sometimes (ok, everyday...) I would forget to write down the homework for the next day. So it was helpful having it posted on this site. Also, I liked how we could see what would be going on the next week so we could plan ahead. I also like it because its convenient. Most teenagers get on the computer at night anyway, so its not like we have to go out of our way to write it. Its also faster than writing it out, and I cant lose it on the way to school. Sometimes there were technical difficulties, but other than that I thought it was a really good idea.
WOAH...this is the last journal... Weird.
i really liked the blog because it's hard to think of things to write in class, but at home you have alot more time. also it was nice to get some ideas from what other people wrote (especially when i didn't read! :) ) i can't say anything about the assignments posted on here because i never took the time to look. next semester i think the blogs could be better if they didn't have to be done every night during the span of "scarlet letter" and "great gatsby" because it got to be a huge burden since i already had a bunch of other homework to do. for the most part though, i liked the blogs much much better than journals.
These little blogs have been........nice. They help a lot with all the assignments that we have, especially for those people who zone out at the end of the period and dont pay attention to the homework. Plus when you are sick you can just hop on your handy surfboard and surf the web right on over to the blog, check the homework, and not be so behind when your body heals. The journals have been not so cool. They pretty much require you to read the book, especially those not so cool "in depth" questions where you have to "explain," and im just not a huge fan of all that. It is always nice to hear the funny stories that people come up with as to why their blogs didnt go through though, always brings a smile to my face. As for improvements, I would say add a little more color and some moving objects. That would totally get me more interested and make me want to be on here more. The more im on, the more likely i am to get my assignment done because i get so bored i do it. Just a suggestion tho. Oh and those poll things are always fun, a few more of those would have been excitable. Overall, i give the blog an A-, hopefully what i can squeeze out of this class with! :D
I liked the portions of the blogs containing the week's assignments. That has helped somewhat in planning my weeks and ensuring I have done the right things for homework. It was, however, not an absolute necessary thing for me to survive this class. The parts where we type out our thoughts has been helpful as well. They have given me an insight as to what other people think of whatever it is we were assigned, and have at times rescued me from something I was asleep for in class.
Yet I do not see this as an absolute necessary. I could have easily lived with plain journal entries in a physical notebook, but that would have been less comfortable. I do prefer this to class discussions, however.
it was really helpful. i liked typing the stuff on there because it helped to understand the reading and it was like discussing the events of the story without actually discussing the story. along with that i also liked to be able to type stuff and just submit it online instead of having to hand it in svoboda you know how i get about handing stuff in. it was also great to have the assignments up i liked that. i dont think you need to change anything because we dont like just get on and explore the blog we just do it to get it done check the homework and get off so its perfect as it is. i would like to say thank you for letting us have this option though because it will not only help us in the future it helped in the class and also was easier on my mind to do things this way. i love the blog and our journals
Blog...Blog...Blog....yea i must say that blog is pretty nice. i feel it is alot better than having to write out blogs all of the time, this way you are doing things that will help you deal with techenology a growing part of everyones life. I think it has been VERY helpful having assignments posted. They really have helped me out in a chinch. yes i have looked. I think just making sure that everyone knows EXACTLY when there is a blog is, I think that it just kinda was hard to rember when we had a blog and when not to.
I thought the blog was great! Even though it got a little annoying... because i would always forget to do the blog until the last minute! but it is nice to be able to post your blog whenever you please. I also like seeing what other people write and their opinions. Don't worry, I looked at the assignments :)... especially when I had to be gone it was very useful and helpful. Also, like Olivia, I would also forget to write the homework down and I can always find it on here, which is helpful. I think the blog is a great idea, especially for the students of today because people (like me) are on the internet 24/7... okay maybe not that much but you know what i mean. Overall i think the blog is very helpful and i think there are no improvements needed!
Do you like my name? I felt the need to spice it up... since that is the "cool" thing to do... and its Katie if you couldnt tell...
I enjoy having the blog online. I hate writing things by hand and this is so much more easy and a lot less time consuming. This way we could also see what other people have written which helps the thought process too. I like not having to carry an extra notebook just for journals. The blog is also nice because if you miss a day everything is on here. I guess the only thing I would recommend would be to be occasionally remind students of it, because I often forgot that I could check things on here. Overall this is a good idea.
I love the blog. Usually, I don't write things down and that's the reason why I forget important things, like birthdays for instance. Being able to go online and figure out what we needed to do was really helpful.
I liked doing journals on here mainly because it's harder to get writer's cramp when typing.
I thought that the blog was a great idea. I hope you do it for your future students.
Yes I have really enjoyed the blogs. It has been so nice to come on the internet and just type up things rather then writing it all out. Also, yes, I have loved having the assignments posted. This way, if I miss anything, it's always there. I have just really enjoyed having this up. As for improvements, I think it's pretty good, but maybe you could make it more festive or something like adding pictures or clip art. Either way, I think the blog has worked nicely!
I thought the blog was a good thing. I enjoyed typing my thought rather than writing them out. I think that when you get at home and you're alone it is much easier to journal. I really liked having the assignments posted on herre so i could check on them. It was a useful tool when i was home sick and it was nice to be able to look ahead and see which nights of the week I would have homework and how much homework I would have. I don't really have any complaints about it. I thought it was really nice.
I really like the blog. It has really helped me over these last couple of weeks due to how much school I have missed. Like Courtney said I am a much better typer than writer so it was faster, and neater than anything that I could have written, so doing the journals on here was helpful to me. It was also fun to read other people's work and make sure I was on the right track as to what I was saying about the novels. It also helped me catch things I hade missed in the stories. One of my only problems with the blog is that I always have to type in all of my information twice, but other than technical difficulties i enjoyed doing my work on here rather than on paper.
I guess I liked the blog. The journals were like any other homework, but they were more helpful in some ways because you could see what everyone else thought about what we read and also share your own thoughts. It was helpful to have assignments posted, especially when I missed a day and needed to check what we did that day. I agree with Courtney I that more random things like the quotes might make it a little more interseting, but the blog is pretty good overall.
