From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think he's a man trying to find himself. I think he wants to have his life with Daisy the way he has imagined it for years. He is just not sure how to go about doing it since Daisy is just a bit taken, haha okay so she is married, but stil, I believe that is what he wants. I think his seeking Nick's help is the only "logical" solution that he can come up with as of right now. I think he is just lost in the world and wants to feeled loved.
If I were Daisy, I would feel very confused! I sort of think that she is wanting to make Gatsby happy by being with him. I also think that she wants to be with im for his money and rich life style. On the other hand she is married to Tom. So, I would be really confused! I wouldn't really know what to do. I would want to please both men and make them both happy. I would have to go to a friend for advice. I know what the right thing to do is to stay with Tom, but there is always the factors of what Daisy wants.
...an incredibly likeable person with very queer friends. He more or less knows everything that goes on around him without other people knowing it. He is very curteous and incredibly shy bloke. His friend, Mr. Wolfsheim, is pretty much creepy and strange. I think Gatsby is too organized and it causes him to be nervous all the time. He kind of reminds me of a woman in that he sees everything the way he wants to see it. I hope Gatsby gets together with Daisy because they seem like a great couple.
...make like a tree and leave Tom as soon as posssible. Gatsby is clearly the better man. But I think Daisy is stuck between her faithful and loyal marriage to Tom and her desire to be with the man she first loved. She should follow her heart and go for the gold with Gatsby.
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick I think he is a pretty interesting and likeable guy who has some pretty strange friends but I guess if I were a guy like Gatsby I really wouldn’t expect any less as far as strange is concerned and I’m really carious about what kind of business Gatsby’s friend thought Nick was suppose to do. I also feel that this part of the novel definitely gives us some insight into the man that Gatsby really is, he is like so many others in the fact that he once was pinning for a woman and although in one sense he lost her he could never really lose her. So he go and finds what he is searching for, quite the ambitious guy if you ask me I don’t know if I could face the woman I loved if I knew she was married to some one else I guess that takes a lot of guts.
If I were Daisy, I would feel extremely confused about the whole situation with Gatsby. I mean I think a part of her would want to leave her husband and live with Gatsby the one she really loved and live happily ever after, but another part of her would think that Gatsby was in the past and she now has a new life and a family. She can’t just pact up her life and go a live with a man that she once loved when she was young even though she might live a happier life. She couldn’t risk what the others would say or what Tom would possibly do to her or Gatsby for that matter, it could ruin her reputation along with Gatsby’s and if she really loves him then she wouldn’t do something like that.
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think he's madly in love with Daisy, but he is afraid to tell her because she is married to Tom. Gatsby is a very smart man, but he can not figure out what to do about Daisy on his own so he asks Jordan and Nick and help. Gatsby would do anything for Daisy. He even has his gardener mow Nick’s lawn so everything looks perfect for Daisy.
If I were Daisy I would leave Tom. Tom cheats on her and he treats her badly. Daisy did not even want to marry Tom. Daisy should marry Gatsby because he loves her and he has everything that Tom has and more. He has got a lot of money and a huge house. Gatsby does not care about any other woman except Daisy, so he would not cheat on her. Since Gatsby is trying so hard to impress Daisy it is very unlikely that he would ever treat her badly. The only reason that Daisy should not leave Tom is because they have a baby.
Part One From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think that he isn't telling the whole story. That random guy that met was kinda creepy and seemed like he was a shady character. Gatsby is easy to get along with but then again so was Bill Clinton...and we all know how that turned out...Decent policies...bad morals. I think Gatsby is interesting because of the way he deals with people and the friends he has but he may be up to no good. (I like him though.) He is crazy about Daisy, which may end up bad because she is married to Tom and Tom HAS been known to lose his temper.
Part Two If I were Daisy I would have told Tom off a long time ago. One he is a jerk to her and two he is CHEATING ON HER. And she has known since the begining! I would be head over heels for G. He seems like he is attractive (although he doesn't have an accent :] )and he seems like an actual good person. I think that if Daisy did leave Tom and somehow she did get custody of the baby, G would treat it like his own because he loves Daisy so much.
My verification word had the word "cow" in it... ha ha... MOOOOOO. Yeah I don't know. :)
Hello comrades! From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, i agree that Gatsby is an odd character but i also think he's up to something. Its that weird friend of his that makes me feel rather suspicious about the two of them. But i also think he's kinda lonely. I mean he has all these extravagent parties, but he never really partakes in them and seems so desperate for nick to befriend him. So overall i think Gatsby is unusual, up to something, and lonely. If i were Daisy, i'd cheat on Tom with Gatsby because heck, that's what everyone else is doing! Just kidding i don't like to be like everyone else, obviously. I would be confused if i were in her position. She's got a guy who doesn't appreciate her, but has given her everything, and then there's Gatsby and he would love her, but cheating is bad and divorce is just not cool yet, (because obviously as stats show, its the "in" thing to do now!!! Hate divorce.) Anyway, the point being that she should leave Tom the cheater and go to Gatsby because he will give her the lavish lifestyle that she enjoys as well as the love and attention and respect that she desires. Power to the women!!!
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think he's a very honest man from a respectable background...just kidding! He's totally a gangsta. I'm sure he's rollin with Al Capone and illegally distributing some booze. There is no way Gatsby could have amassed such a colossal sum of money legally. Other than that trivial setback he's a great guy. Unlike Tom, Gatsby really loves Daisy. Gatsby and Daisy were made for each other. He needs to make a move.
If I were Daisy, I would file for divorce and take half of Tom’s fortune. Then I would kick Tom in the shin and run into the open arms of Gatsby. Tom doesn't deserve a good girl like Daisy. He probably wouldn't even care. He's already got Myrtle anyway. Gatsby would give Daisy the love she deserves and make her truly happy. -Tony
My verification word had the word "xotvx" in it...MOOOOOOOO:)
a gangster. his story was a bunch of crap of how he went to oxford. even though he had those medals and stuff. he is a pro, the medals were fake. I still like gatsby though, i just dont trust him. i think he is good inside. he just has to do what he has to do. i think he will be helpful to nick. gangsters can be good people. If i was daisy i would go with gatsby. daisy isnt gonna be faithful to tom anyway. she might as well get some money out of it. i dont think she loves tom. go with gatsby.
i guess ill ad more to mine. gatsby is doing illegal things to get money. that doesnt mean he is bad though. i believe nick will get very involved in the business with gatsby. i feel that this story will get crazy and awsome. it will have action, violence and romance. it is a smart book too. daisy is gonna go with gatsby. its obvious. i like the fact that gatsby and nick dont drink a lot. this will help them with the future. they wont be caught slipping. im excited for how this book will go on.
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I would say that Gatsby is doing a few different things. Firstly, I think he is trying to uphold an idea that is completely insubstantial. His idea of what Daisy should be and how she should act is probably impossible for Daisy to fulfill. It saddens me to think that a man this great and this driven has spent this much of his life striving after a dream that cannot come to pass without hurting many of those around him. The other thing I am beginning to suspect of Gatsby is that even with all of his money and power, he is an insecure man. Though he seems to have nearly everything, Gatsby has nothing. In the end, friends and family are what makes a man truly happy. Gatsby is beginning to understand this. He is doing everything he can to get the one woman he believes he loves and befriends Nick, a man he has not noticed until now. I believe that these are two signs that Gatsby is lonely despite all of his parties and possessions.
If I were Daisy, I like to think that I would drop Tom like a bad habit and get with the Gastbyness. I also know that despite all of the things Tom has done to me,(since I am now Daisy) I would still feel torn between the man I once loved and the man who loves me. Another factor that may determine the outcome of my little conflict is the knowledge that Tom once loved me too. That carries some weight no matter what. Of course, I am not Daisy, and I do not know what I would do without being in her shoes for awhile.
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think that he's still a lot more shady than we realize. I mean yes he still seems to be a nice guy and all but I think something is up with him and Wolf-whateverhisnameis. I think Gatsby might have gotten money not only from inheritance, but from "naughty" things as well.
I think Daisy should just ditch Tom. He's a jerk and Gatsby was her original love. Gatsby seems like he might be a much better (and not to mention faithful) guy then Tom...if that is his real name! Obviously Gatsby has the hots for her and she did for him at one time too so why don't they just start over since she doesn't like "Tom" anyways.
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think he's into the whole gangster scene. He hangs out with some shady characters. He even admits one of his friends fixed the world series. People who obey the law don't hang out with people who don't (the weird exceptions don't count in this theory. I'm not sure if I like Gatsby now or not. I know he wants to see Daisy but he gets a little pushy. If I were Nick I would be getting annoyed at him. If I were Daisy, I would divorce Tom. I think I would be a little mad at Nick for setting up the whole meeting Gatsby thing. But I also think I would be a little grateful toward him. But overall I think I would be confused b/c Daisy is stuck w/ Tom who is cheating on her and then she sees Gatsby so then she has to decide whether she wants to cheat on Tom or not. I think Tom and Daisy need to divorce. Yes it's looked down upon but they could move and it would eventually blow over.
i think the lunch would give anyone ideas about the source of gatsby's wealth... you see a more shady side of gatsby's contact list with mr....whats his bucket. the guy with the molar cuff links. Gatsby sees no problem with being friends with him so obviously gatsby wouldnt have much objection to doing it himself...
I would totally hook up with gatsby(im daisy)... I mean everyone knows tom is cheating. i think daisy would definitely have the better mister(male form of mistress??)... They obiously have a past relationship and i would be willing to bet that anthing is better than tom.
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think he's crazy if Gatsby thinks that San Francisco is in the midwest! I wish!! Gatsby obviously isn't telling Nick the truth, and this is especially bad since Gatsby flat out tells him that he is saying what really happened: "I'll tell you the God's truth."...or not. Liar liar pants on fire. Anyway, I also think that Gatsby is just a regular guy (shady friends and gangster-ish-ness(-_~) aside), Gatsby is just afraid of rejection. I think this is why he asks for Jordan and Nick's help.
If I were Daisy I would leave that racist, cheater Tom!! I disagree with everyone who says they'd be confused. Gatsby vs. Tom= no contest!! Sure Tom has provided for her, but Gatsby would be able to do that too (just don't ask where the money comes from lol) and sure Daisy has a child, but she could just bring her daughter along. Tom would be too caught up in dealing with Myrtle to notice. I would prefer no marriage to an unhappy, unfaithful marriage. Even if Daisy decided she didn't love Gatsby anymore, she should still leave Tom!!
From Gatsby's lunch with Nick, I think that he isn't really as mysterious as he first seemed at his party, Nick's first meeting of him. I think that he is a very hard working and likeable guy who has always happened to have a crush on Daisy, who is conviently his new neighbor's cousin. I think that he has always dreamed of having her as he always dreamed of being rich. He has accomplished one and now wants the other.
If I were Daisy, I wouldn't know what to do. I think I would just have to go somewhere where I could be alone for a while to think. However, the type of person Daisy is, whether her motives be being loyal or afraid of the loss of status, I think it is clear she does not really want to leave Tom from the beginning. She likes the thrill of being with Gatsby, but would rather be safe with Tom.
