I think, that I don't really have one mebbe cause I sorta did not really think about a favourite VFX Artist, actor etc...

--Approx 20 Min Later--

It came down to 2 people.. VFX Artist Andrew Kramer or Actor Summer Glau.

.
...

I think one of my favorite actors would be Summer Glau, she plays the role of the Stoic Cameron Phillips in the TSCC TV Series. She is good at acting like a machine and is sometimes humerous as one. Her work stands out from the other related Movies and other machines as she has at least some human-ish properties and is at least sometimes funny with it "I detect something living up there" "Its a bird" "Should I kill it?". A stoic machine that is only efficent in killing people through 2 seasons of TV shows would become old and she prevents that... idk what else to type now.

Hmm.. I really haven't given this much thought to this topic before. My mind is drawing a blank right now..

I'll go with my dad. Although he is not famous, he can be all of the above (not so sure about the actor). I not only admire him because he's my dad, but I also admire his choices and achievements. He started out living in Ecuador, then came here to the U.S. He and my mom raised five kids in probably the worst part of town in a really small house, however, my dad never gave up hope. When him and my mom divorced, he payed for many things and we moved to a bigger house. He paid for my mom's college and everything along with his five kids at home. My dad still has hope to move on in the future and we are moving into an even bigger house! :) I am very proud of my dad and I think that the reason his work stands out over everyone else is because he doesn't only have one good idea or opinion, he has many. I know that nobody is perfect, but I feel that he is pretty close. Growing up with him in my life has made me share his opinions. I know this happens to many kids with their parents, but if that's true, I'm glad he feels the way he does with many things. My dad is very neutral and understanding. He's not the type of person to yell or cuss or be strict. In fact, he's the farthest thing from strict that I know. However, he must be doing something right because none of his kids seem to misbehave or take advantge of their freedom (well most of them :P -not referring to me). I think that my dad goes about things in the right way and I hope to keep the same opinions that I share with him when I grow up. I also hope that I end up with well behaved kids like he did, though we aren't all that lucky. Oh yeah, and in addition to that.. I hope they grow up smart enough to pass an essay test in Mrs. Svob's class without making up everything as they go writing it the worst way possible!!!!!! Anyway, my dad isn't the best at acting, singing (though he is pretty good at that), he isn't the most athletic or best sales person, but he is my favorite visual artist/actor/musician/ athlete/business person I know.

Hmm...

(a long time and a lot of "hms" later...)

i dont know who i admire...

well i guess i would have to say that i admire Tom Osborne. Not only was he a fantastic football coach, he has done a lot to help better nebraska. He tries to help teens make a better life for themselves through the Teammates program. He is a strong-willed person and will do what it takes to get the job done right. even after retiring he came back to nebraska football because we needed him.

this was a really hard journal!!!! i didnt like it one bit!!!

Ok, so visual artists are hard from me to decide between... but it comes to Jackson Pollock and Monet. I probably lean towards Pollock the most because of his complete control over his rather random seeming design. I love the bright colors he uses along with sand and gravel and other random elements for a really unique and eye catching effect. RANDOM-I like. Monet I really admire for his pure talient and really unique way of painting(for ya'll who don't know Monet mixed his paint on his actual painting instead of on his pallete... he was the first to do this). Actors... Richard Gere, Julia Roberts and Johnny Depp because they're not whor...abi's.... Muscian would definetly without a doubt be Taylor Swift. I have listened to her music for 4 freakin years and not the Pathetic 8 months shes been on the radio like everyone else... i had every single one of her songs memorized before the radio stations ever heard of her thank you very much. Very touchy topic for me, makes me very angry that everyone is all like taylor swift taylor swift yay! And it makes me grrrrrr cuz i found her first. so ha. Anyways....wow.. I love her to death because shes very genuine. Shes the first female artist to write all of her own songs. All of her songs are written about things that actually happened to her or that she wants to do. She even uses the real names of all the people her songs are about. She's gorgeous and she doesnt let that go to her head and she isnt really mixed up with all the hollywood drama. She preformed for the forst time when she was 8 years old at a chereoke thing. The first thing she said was "Hi my name is Taylor Swift and I want a record deal" which I think is really cute. She worked really hard to get where she is and juggled school too while she was on her first tour. Her Cd came out when she was 15 which i think is a really great accomplishment(btw i had found the cd like a week after it came out). I want to meet her sooooo b ad i think i flippin deserve to. And yes I am listening to her as I write this :D And i think i just got that we only have to write about one of those soooo whoops :D

i almost forgot we had a journal, and as i can see many other ppl did too...

This is the one journal that I am really really unsure about. Honestly, I've seen that question (and many other fav ?'s) multiple times, and i don't have a favorite. I think it all depends on the work rather than the artist, some good artists may have works i don't like.

~after reading lee wee's response~
I definitely agree with her in dad (dif guy tho), he bothers me a lot of the time asking random questions and then questioning my answer (which is when i yell at him and always say don't ask me if you don't believe me) but he tries very hard to be neutral and non-discriminating. unlike some other chinese adults (no i have not forgotten this one person yet) who dislike kids conversing with them and telling them they're wrong, my dad actually listens and agrees when i say something that corrects his belief/knowledge/whatever. I think he did a better job of it before tho, maybe its bc i went too far with it. he also makes me cry (i no that's hard to believe) more than anyone else. it always involve his criticizing me in a really hurtful way. I guess he's trying to make me grow up, but he also thinks 19 is too young to be in college tho he was already teaching at 18 (his excuse is that's how school was like in china then, w/e) I think i've gotten a lot of my trying to be neutral and analyze both sides from him, along with the brainy stuff and some DNA. But I bonded with him after only living with him for a year (he was already in the states when i was born). Sometimes I wonder how that happened, he says its blood.

Hmmm....do you talk to Mrs. Small about things to do for journals...? I just had an oral quiz on this!!!! Oh well! Easier for me!

Ok! So my favorite actor was Mike Myers!!! He is hillarious!!! I love the Shrek movies, but I really like the Austin Powers movies!!!! I admire his hard work and acting skills. I know that he helped write the Austin Powers movies and is working on the fourth Shrek movie...?? I think that his acting and comics skills are (weird wording) top anyone elses skills!!! The way he plays Austin Powers is the best!!! I like the humor that he uses in his movies because it's (ok not always appropriate, but...) awesome!!! Ok I'm doing really bad with these sentences, but that's because I blew a few fuses during the test, and it's getting late...for me anyway...zzzzzzzzz.......zzzzzzzzzz.....zzzzz I'm totally awake right now.........

One of the people that I admire that is as famous business person is Betsey Johnson. This woman is a famous/unique fashion designer. She has built her way up in the world. People that make something of their own I think is amazing. The determination she had and has to make a life in the fashion industry I look up to. I admire her creativity and independence. She has a style that is way out there and differnet. No matter what anyone says she does what she loves and that is fashion. Also her personality is expressed in the clothing she designs. Her style stands out because of its individuality. The so called "look" she has is vintage but at the same time fun. Betsey Johnson is a person I look up to because shes gotten where she wanted to be. She had all the determination and got there because of it. :)

I don’t watch enough TV to have a favorite actor, and I’m not in to music, politics, or art too much. I would have to say my grandpa is the person I admire most. I don’t know where to start so I guess I’ll pick a spot and go with it. My grandpa has always been a good father, husband, and well…. grandpa. Every time my family and I see him he is always in a good mood and is willing to do anything. Even when he drives five hours and I tired and just wants to talk and rest, we would drag him off to play a game or something and he wouldn’t complain ever. He helped raise my mom and later my sisters and I and has been with us through the good and the bad. For example when my grandma was in the hospital and her cancer was getting worse and worse, he helped comfort us although he was married to her for forty nine years and she meant more to him. This in one of the main reasons I look up to him is because today it seems to me that everyone is getting divorced and they were together for all that time. Another big reason I he sticks out is because he isn’t lazy. Laziness seems to be a big problem in today’s world because technology, food, and transportation makes it easy for us to do nothing but my grandpa still goes out and runs every morning and runs around forty races a year although he is in eighties. His heart even stopped during a race a few years ago and he had to go to the hospital and get a pacemaker for his heart but he started to run again after just six months. My grandpa also volunteers for different organizations. He has been a member of Kiwanis for multiple years and after he retired he started to read to second graders at a local elementary school. The last reason I admire his is because he has been involved with his churches choir for many years. This shows he is religious and devoted. These are all the reasons my grandpa sticks out and I admire him. He has been in the paper many times for all he’s done and has received many awards and congratulations. Despite all this he never brags or showboats his achievements, he just does it to help others and to be able to feel good about himself. This is the main reason I look up to him and I hope to be him in that respect when I grow older.

One individual that has inspired me throughout my years. I'm gettin up there but since I can remember in 5th grade I looked up to Marshall Mathers or Eminem. He started from nothing. He didn't have any support from his mom and he had to basically grow up on his own. I admire him because he struck out on his own and dared to be different from the rest. He had strength to go against all odds. In his verses/ lyrics it seemed as if every time I listened to Lose Yourself or Mocking Bird he was pouring his heart out onto the floor. He wasn't ever afraid to strike out and be different. He may not have always made the right decisions/ choices but I look up to him for the right ones that he made. I look up to EMINEM because he dared and succeeded and fulfilled his life long dream and told his true life story along the way....

So this is a super hard question.

I guess the famous person I look up to most would have to be . . .?
I really don't look up to that many super stars, but if we are talking about people we know, I would have to say Adrian and Sharon Van Houten. These two are a couple of old geezers who felt the calling to become gospel singers. They travel around the United States and minister at churches through song. I know this is gonna sound kinda cheesy, but they are kind oflike an extra set of grandparents to me and often like them better than my actual blood relatives. I don't know, I guess I just admire them for hearing God's calling in their lives and following it no matter what.

May I just say, I agree completely with Courtney's answer. Betsey Johnson is AMAZING! Man Chelsey's answer is good too. Why can't I look up to someone that is super cool and famous?

So, I was definately thinking of picking Brittney Spears because I modeled my pole dancing in our English video after her...walking...but I guess Brittney Spears isn't school appropriate...it's a good thing that pole dancing is! Are you ready for this, Mrs. Svoboda?...OK, so I guess this is the part where I actually offer my opinion on the blog...My favorite actor would definately have to be Johnny Depp. This is because he always takes the "freak" part. He isn't afraid to look and act differently. He is also able to create the character that he plays so that it will stay in the mind of those watching the movie. He develops his characters to make them real to the audience. Ok, who didn't want to meet Jack Sparrow? And who wasn't scared to death by Sweeney Todd? I absolutely love the way that he is able to dig into and depict the human psyche...or distort it.
By the way, I'm thinking that we all just not vote for Obama or McCain and go Green Party instead! Save the whales and the trees!! :)

The people I admire most. Lets start with George Carlin, Bill Hicks and Doug Stanhope. These 3 comedians share the same style, so I'll lump them all together. The only other person I can look up to is Albert Einstein. So...Lets start with the comedians, they are more like modern philosophers with comedy as their medium, but comedians none the less. They (as well as myself) are on a constant search for knowledge and enlightenment. These comedians are able to shatter the barriers of superficial human culture and describe humanity in the most basic, yet imaginative ways possible. I believe that these men use comedy to spread their words because it creates a kind of vulnerability that shows the true character of their minds, and I admire their courage. They mainly focus on the hypocracies of society and how to avoid them. I admire the fact that these men have put so much brilliant thought into their life/environment and are able to share it with others.
The only other man I admire is Albert Einstein. Just the notion that his entire life's work was stemmed from only his thoughts is admirable. He wanted one simple theory to unify the universe and explain all it's laws. The only thing that separated him from other people with good ideas was his determination. He spent 20 years in his attic trying to find a solution and a proof to his problems. Any man with that kind of passion for his cause needs to be remembered. Einstein came so close to solving how the universe began, and why we are here. He has inspired endless scientists to continue his work.
Einstein used science to prove and explain the way the universe and humanity came to be. And the comedians use their logic to prove and explain the reasons for human actions. Both of these things inspire me, and I admire all these men for their contributions.

If this made as much sense to you as it did to me after I read through it, feel free to research these men. It may help explain what I was going for. Try to find the more intellectual comedy instead of the pure entertainment stuff.

Okay....he's not my favorite athlete, but I admire Pat Tillman greatly. The guy had a big football career ahead of him playing for the Arizona Cardinals, but he enlisted in the Army. After leaving the NFL, Tillman was deployed to Afghanistan (I think). Anyway, he ended up dying in combat in the Middle East. (Although many think he was actually killed by friendly fire, that's a whole 'nother story) I think it would take a lot of guts and pride to leave behind a promising, rewarding NFL career to join the Army and serve your country. This is why I admire Pat Tillman.

P.S. Sorry I'm missing so much class, guys! I miss you all! (Well except Keegan...)

First off, I hate you all.
Second, I hate this journal.
Third, I'm typing this on my iPod so it will be really short.

I don't have a favorite. And I don't want to waste time explaining multiple people so I'll just explain what I admire in a person's character. I like people that speak out against dumb ideas. And I like people that portray a perfect life. You CAN be perfect. I don't know where I'm going with this.. chop chop chop. I hate journals. Sorry this sucks.

Katie i think you need to see someone, maybe a shrink, about the pole dancing thing and Brittney Spears.

I really do not have a favorite. Most actors have major issues(Brittney Spears to name one) and i think professional athletes get paid way too much. Im not much into visual atists and as for buisiness persons i dont know any off the top of my head that stand out. If i had to choose someone it would have to be high school teachers, especially those that help in study hall. My mom used to be a sub for high school and she would tell how bad some of the kids would act, so i guess the reason is because teachers do their best, most of them anyway, to teach students. They have to put up with a lot of crap because some kids just cant behave and they are underpaid(which is kind of good because it means that they are teaching to teach and not because of money). So way to go high school teachers for putting up with us annoying teenagers and helping to shape our futures.

How a I supposed to anwer this... there are way too many answers.

But i think I would have to say that my sister is by far the person I admire most.

She isn't famous. She isn't well know, but she is the nicest person when you get to know her. Kaia attends CU Boulder and is in the Honors Aerospace Engineering Program. She is smart and she knows it. She isn't one for putting off work till the last minute (hehe) and I don't believe that she has ever procrastinated... EVER.

Kaia is a caring soul and her love of animals is... well... kind of funny because she gets upset when any... I mean ANY... animal dies or gets hurt (exept spiders they are too creepy to care for)

Though Kaia may keep to herself sometimes she is my hero.

Oh and to incorporate some of what I am actually supposed to be writing about my sister can paint when forced to. Yup best under pressure artist I have ever met. And occaionally we sing in the car. That makes her a musician. So yep. Kaia is my favorite artist/ actor/ musician/ etc.

I don't have a favorite actor or musician. i love music, but there are too many choices to explain. The same goes for actors as well, but one person who really stands out is Freddie Highmore. this is the British kid who has been in August Rush, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Spiderwick Chronicles... basically every movie ever made in need of a child lead. Not only is he a huge star in a ton of movies, but he also has school, homework, tests to study for, sports, you name it. the kid is freaking amazing. i also admire him because even though he has worked with big stars such as Robin Williams and Johnny Depp, he is still a down to earth normal teenager.

She is soo funny and not afraid of what others think!! she has a go getter attitude towards everything and always tries her hardest at watever she is doing. She is so free spirited and so much fun to be around!! she could make ne one laugh! and im not gunna lie but im kinda jealous that she is still beautiful without ne makeup on!! i respect her so much and i loook up to her as a role model....and as my big sister!! :)

My favorite visual artist by far is Tim Burton. Where the heck does he get some of the stuff that he writes and makes movies about? I feel that he is a very unique person and I like people who are not affraid to be different. Even though some of his works are kind of "out there", it also teaches valuable lessons in life. (Some of them anyway haha.) For example, Edward Scissorhands, (if you haven't seen it, I hate you) it teaches people not to judge people by the way they look and to be open minded about change. ((That's what i got out of it anyway haha and it's just a good movie!!)) Another example would be my all time favorite movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. (And if you haven't seen this movie I DEFINITLY hate you =]) This movie teaches you to be greatful for what you have and to not try and take over another holiday without permission =D haha. But anywho, that's why I like Tim Burton. =]]

The person I admire most...would probably be two comedians named Dave Chappelle and Demetri Martin. Both have unique styles of comedy, and I think they are probably the two most famous people that I have any admiration for. Chappell's jokes are inappropriate at times, and often racist in nature. But nonetheless, very funny stuff. Martin takes a different approach to comedy, his work is much more subtle.

--My favorite actors are definitely Hugh Laurie and Johnny Depp. Hugh aka Dr. House is awesome!!!Did you know he was also the nice dad in Stuart Little? I couldn't picture House ever being nice...which is maybe why I like him so much. He isn't really the greatest guy you'll ever meet,(far from it, actually)but is a brilliant doctor, and i'm major impressed that Hugh pulls it off so well. Also Johnny Depp: Jack Sparrow, Sweeney Todd, nuff said. Amazing!!!!!!!!! Plus they're both pretty hot for older guys, you know;)Like katie said, J is totally fantastic at jumping into his character's psyche, and H is freakin' amazing also. Both of these actors play some eccentric characters, but they do it so well, that I pretty much always like whatever movie they're in. Except maybe Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...J kinda creeped me out, but that's what made it so memorable.
--P.S. Katie+pole-dancing+an interesting song to choreograph with=lots of creep-tastic fun! You'll see. Mrs. S, if you don't like it, just smile and nod, and give us an A...please? My birthday is Friday, so it could be like your gift to me...Along with a possible party and/or naptime day;)

The thing I admire most in a person is that they are blatantly honest, good or bad, to get a point across. They don't care if someone hates them or loves them for it, and they have a certain personality that is either completely addicting or absolutely annoying. Since I don't really admire anyone, I've chosen someone famous who fits that description to prove my point. Janice Dickinson, would have to be the person that fully explains what I admire merely because she doesn't give a S*^$ about what people think.

In general, my favorite "famous" people are soundtrack writers/makers. They are behind the scenes the entire time and get essentially no credit for making a movie so enjoyable. Without the music, movies are so awful to watch. All of the emotion is gone, all of the passion and energy disappears. To put together the exact right mix of music to a movie has got to be a tough job, and then if you hardly get credit for it, it makes going back and doing it so much more harder in my mind. But they keep doing it. Again and again.

If I had to choose one person, I'd choose John Williams. I actually had to look up his name because I only knew him as the guy who wrote the Star Wars music and all the other movie music. How lame is that? I can sing practically all of the theme songs to movies he's written music for, and yet I don't remember his name. For him to continue to write music for so little credit, for being known as "the guy who wrote all of the movie music", he must truly love what he does. And I respect that. He's not doing this because he gets all the credit. He's not doing this for the fame and glory. He's doing it because he enjoys it. I could name lots of movies he's made sountracks for, and most people would be like, "Holy Cow. Does this guy have a life?" Probably not, but hey, he writes pretty darn cool music. Jaws...Star Wars...Indiana Jones...ET...Harry Potter...The Patriot...War of the Worlds...Schindler's List... You get it.

My favrite musician/group is Apocalyptica. Wanna hear something different than anything you've ever heard before? Go listen to them.

My favorite actor is Heath Ledger. My favorite movie is The 10 Things I Hate About You, and he's in it, and I love A Knight's Tale, and he's in it, and he pwned nubes in The Dark Night, and yeah. Pretty much amazing. Too bad he ODed and died. :-(

I would have to say Jackson Pollock who is the father of action painting. I do not admire how he lived his life (in the bottle). I do on the other hand admire what he did. He created a new style of art called action painting. Action painting is simple the action of painting. He achieved new textures and looks with action painting. It stands out because it is non-objective and most times had no focal point. It also stands out just by the technique he used. He would sling, throw, drip and spray the paint onto the canvas.
